Aesthetic Cognition Education in College under the New Media Context

Abstract. Compare to the traditional media, new media shows stronger interaction and public characteristics in the process of communication and acceptance. It is as well equipped with more independence and features of blindness in the aesthetic cognition link. This is particular the case on the college students, who are active and contact closely to the media. It has been the core content for the modern aesthetic education in college how to have the advantages of new media played in education, guide the aesthetic cognition of college students accurately and make them equip with the accurate aesthetic ideas and aesthetic orientation. Its research values are concentrated in the following aspects. Cultivate the accurate aesthetic attitude of the students, ensuring the independence of the aesthetic imaginations and the creativity of thinking. Build accurate outlook on world of the students in the aesthetic activities, ensuring their healthy development and avoiding the aesthetic disadvantages brought by the new media at the same time.

As for the new media and the research on relevant aspects, it starts in China at the end of last century when the network landed on the mainland. From the self-development trend of the new media, it has much more advantages than the traditional media. It plays an increasingly important role. New media is a broad term in media studies that emerged in the latter part of the twentieth century. New media holds out a possibility of on-demand access to content anytime, anywhere, on any digital device, as well as interactive user feedback, creative participation and community formation around the media content.
