教案示例 Unit 25 Lesson 97 Dialogue
Lesson objectives:
1.Grasp the phrases: send out / get through / ring back.
2.Expressions used for making a phone call: Hello, may I speak to… / Hold on please.
/Whos that speaking? / This is… speaking…
3.Improve the ability of expressing themselves with the telephone language.
Teaching aids: a recorder, a computer, etc.
Teaching procedure:
A.Preparation
1.Revision
Using pictures or real objects to revise the ways of communication. Questions are asked: If you want to tell something to a friend who is far away from you, what will you do? / Write a letter , make a phone call , send a telegram… ( show the pictures by a computer. ) (in Ss AB Ex. Ⅰ)
2.Presentation
Show a real telephone and review the names of different parts of a telephone. : (Receiver, wire, button?) and some useful phrases about telephones. The teacher may ask: ?If you want to call someone, but you dont know the number, what will youdo?? / (Look up the telephone number in the telephone directory. ) / Suppose I am making a phone call, can you describe what I am doing in simple English? ( Pick up the receiver, press the buttons, say ?hello攨e)
B.The body of the lesson
1.Listening
While the students listen to the dialogue, tell them to think of the answers to the questions shown on the screen.
1)—What are Mary and Lizzy doing?
—They are organizing a large medical conference.
2) —How many invitations are they going to send out?
—Over two hundred.
3) —Why do they need two buses?
—They want to meet the people at the station.
2.Drill
1) The students work in pairs to practise the dialogue. Walk around the room and correct pronunciation mistakes as necessary. Ask some pairs to act out their dialogues to the class. Praise those who put expressions in their voices.
2) Look at the pictures (shown by a computer) and try to describe them with a word in the dialogue. Teacher may ask some questions to guide them: Where are they? (They are at the conference. ) / What do you think the
