Approaches to Cultural Education in Junior English Teaching
Abstract
With the increasing tendency of globalization, the contacts between China and other countries are witnessing acceleration never occurred before, and the intercultural communication becomes a realistic demand. English instruction in middle school also places higher requirements for cultural instruction because of the change of curriculum environment. This paper focuses on the important of cultural teaching in middle school, the difference between Chinese and English culture and the approaches of cultural education in order to achieve one of the most important instructional aim: to improve students intercultural communication competence and practical ability.

Ⅰ.Introduction
With the political and economic development, communications between different countries have become more and more frequent. The Communication between peoples from different countries is actually the communication between peoples from different cultures .Learning the western countries ‘culture is the first problem we must consider to reach a successful intercultural communication. How to carry out cultural education in English teaching is a good question for us to ponder over.
To conduct the teaching of culture effectively,first, a language teacher should examine the traditional culture of learning of herself and her students. When teacher and student unconsciously comply to their traditional culture of learning,a particular mode of teaching culture which adapts itself to that culture of learning will be shaped. Confucianism is the mainstream of Chinese culture while the western Culture emphasizes individualism. Confucianism has exerted great influence on intercultural communication, which will unavoidably lead to culture interference due to cultural difference.
