Methods 34 patients with HELLP syndrome were enrolled.According to the length from the time of diagnosis to the time of delivery, patients were divided into 2 groups: group Ⅰ, within 48 hours; group Ⅱ, over 48 hours.Complications, maternal and perinatal mortality were analyzed retrospectively between different groups.Results No maternal mortality was in two groups, perinatal mortality was 12% in group Ⅰ, and 50 % in group Ⅱ with significant differences (P lt;0.05.Incidence of DIC, ARF, postpartum hemorrhage and neonatal asphyxia was 4%, 8%, 13%, 12% in group Ⅰ, and 30%, 40%, 50%, 40 % in group Ⅱ which was significantly higher (P lt;0.05.Conclusion Pregnancy should be terminated as soon as possible once diagnosis of HELLP is confirmed with optimal time within 48 hours.Continuing pregnancy will have bad influence on patients.The later termination of pregnancy, the higher rate of maternal and perinatal mortality and pregnancy complications.
