[Abstract] Objective: To study and analyze the effect of the late vitamin K deficiency and the protection. Methods: To analyze the 48 cases of late vitamin K deficiency disease occurred from 2001 ~ 2006 in the Second People’s Hospital of Guilin. Results: Among the 48 cases, 26 cases occurred twitch, full bregma; 18 cases appeared hemorrhagic spot on the body; 20 cases occurred eclampsia and irritability; 6 cases occurred hematemesis and hemafecia and 16 cases occurred haemophilia on the injection spot. Conclusion: ① The late vitamin deficiency disease caused 83.3% intracranial hemorrhageamong the patients, which means unfavorable prognosis; ② early diagnosis and early treatment; ③ the breast-feeding mother should take oral vitamin K1 while the newborn infant should get the intramuscular vitamin K1.
