Neurology Inpatient Hospital Infection
[Abstract] Objective: To understand the neurology ward hospital infection. METHODS: In 2008 admitted to the 2060 hospitalized patients were investigated retrospectively. Results: Hospital infection rate was 6.04%,gt; = 60 patients at high risk of infection sites were respiratory tract, urinary tract and gastrointestinal tract, the main underlying diseases as cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral infarction, intracranial infection, length of staygt; = 15 d infection accounted for 85.08% Conclusion: neurology ward of the key areas of hospital infections , age, length of hospital stay, underlying diseases, invasive procedures such as factor, the key to prevention is to reduce risk factors, the rational use of antibiotics and good disinfection and isolation.

Hospital infections occur in elderly, critically ill patients. Neurology patients to older, more paralysis, disturbance of consciousness and more critical condition as the characteristics of a high risk of nosocomial infections [1], therefore, explore the neurology inpatient hospital infections characteristics and control measures, has important clinical significance for the precise understanding of hospital infection rates and hospital neurology ward management problems, the Department of Neurology, 2008, admitted to hospital for all hospital were retrospectively investigated to analyze risk factors, proposed control measures.
1 Materials and Methods
1.1 General Information
Our hospital January 1, 2008 - 2008 Department of Neurology, December 31, all admitted to hospital patient records were retrospectively analyzed.
1.2 Methods
Hospital diagnostic criteria issued by the Ministry of Health lt;lt;Hospital diagnostic criteriagt;gt; for diagnosis, medical records of hospital infection register, and related factors for statistical analysis and processing.
