Methods Retrospective analysis of February 2005 to February 2009 out-patient treatment of 51 patients over 50 years old back pain causes and treatment. Results elderly lower back Most non-traumatic cause of the pain caused due to osteoporosis. Conclusion elderly because the majority of low back pain is caused due to osteoporosis, patients often associated with vertebral compression fractures, the treatment should be anti-osteoporosis therapy at the same time to receive good results. [Keywords:] Aged; the cause of low back pain; osteoporosis; treatment [Abstract] Objective To explore the etiology of aged patients’ back pain and its therapy.Methods The clinial data of 51 cases in outpatient department from Feb.2005 to Feb.2009 were analyzed retrospectively.Results Most back pain of aged patients was not caused by traumatic factors but by osteoporosis.Conclusion The back pain of aged patients was mostly caused by osteoporosis.Vertebral compression was usually conplicated with osteoporosis.So effective therapy for vertebral compression should include anti-osteoporosis measures.
