 PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 11 p53 VEGF TSP1 in benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer patients with prostate carcinoma and its significance [Abstract] Objective To investigate the p53 gene, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), thrombospondin 1 (TSP 1) in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostate cancer (Pca) in patients with prostate carcinoma and its significance. Methods BPH 20 patients, Pca 80 patients. Pca group Gleason score lt;7 were 46 cases for the low score, Gleason scoregt; = 7 are for the high score group, 34 cases; 59 patients without bone metastasis, bone metastasis in 21 cases. two-step immunohistochemical detection of each group p53, VEGF, TSP 1 expression levels. Results Pca group p53, VEGF expression was significantly higher than the BPH group (P lt;0.05), BPH group was significantly higher expression of TSP 1 in the Pca group (P lt;0.05); Pca in the low score group, no bone metastasis p53, VEGF expression were significantly lower than the high score group, the bone metastasis group (P lt;0.05); low score group, TSP without bone metastasis 1 expression were significantly higher than the high score group, the bone metastasis group (P lt;0.05). Pca group, the expression of p53 and VEGF were positively correlated, p53 and TSP 1 expression was negatively correlated. Conclusion The p53 tumor suppressor gene mutations in PCa and may increase VEGF and down TSP 1, inhibits tumor angiogenesis, p53, VEGF and TSP 1 is the degree of malignancy and the prognosis of PCa an important indicator.
