 PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 12 Tanshinone Ⅱ A on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rat brain tissue and serum NO content and NOS iNOS activity [Abstract] Objective To observe the tanshinone Ⅱ A (Tan Ⅱ A) on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in rat brain tissue and serum nitric oxide (NO) levels, nitric oxide synthase (NOS) and inducible nitric oxide synthase ( iNOS) activity to investigate the cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury of possible mechanisms. Methods Rats were randomly divided into sham operation group, ischemia reperfusion group, Tan Ⅱ A low and high dose group was established by suture model of focal cerebral ischemia and reperfusion. Tan Ⅱ A high and low dose oral administration in the preoperative continuous high and low dose Tan Ⅱ A 3 d, day 1. each group in the cerebral ischemia and reperfusion 24 h 90 min after HE staining to observe pathological changes detected in brain tissue and serum NO content and NOS, iNOS activity. Results Tan Ⅱ A high and low dose group pathological changes of brain tissue ischemia reperfusion was significantly lighter than group, Tan Ⅱ A ischemic changes of the high dose group also lighter than the low dose group. and sham operation group, ischemia-reperfusion brain tissue and serum NO content and NOS, iNOS activity was significantly increased, and the ischemia reperfusion group comparison, Tan Ⅱ A high and low doses of brain tissue and serum NO content and NOS, iNOS activity was significantly reduced, high and low dose groups was statistically significant difference between (P lt;0.05). Conclusion Tan Ⅱ A reduces neuronal degree of injury, ischemia reperfusion injury has a protective effect, which may be associated with decreased NOS, iNOS activity, reduced NO content.
