Wereviewarticlesdescribingintravitrealinjectionofanti-VEGFdrugtrials,whilediscussingthemechanismsoftheactionofanti- VEGFantibodies,andalsoevaluatingtheiroutcomes.Intraocularinjectionsofanti-VEGFdrugareconsideredtobeane?ective treatmentformacularedemaafterretinalveinocclusion,however,recurrent/persistentedemaiscommon.Therecentreports mayleadtoashiftintreatmentparadigmforDME,fromlaserphotocoagulation,tonewerapproachesusinganti-VEGFdrugs. Therehavebeenseveralwell-publicizedprospective,randomizedstudiesthatdemonstratedthee?cacyofintravitrealinjectionof anti-VEGFdrugsforpatientswithAMD.AdjuvantbevacizumabforneovascularglaucomamaypreventfurtherPASformation, anditislikelytoopenupatherapeuticwindowforapanretinalphotocoagulationandtrabeculectomy.Intravitrealinjectionof bevacizumab(IVB)resultsinasubstantialdecreaseinbleedingfromtheretinalvesselsornewvesselsduringastandardvitrectomy. IVBhasalsobeenreportedtobee?ectiveforinducingtheregressionofnewvesselsinproliferativediabeticretinopathy.Theuse ofbevacizumabinstage4or5retinopahtyofpermaturity(ROP)istoreducetheplussigntohelpreducehemorrhageduringthe subsequentvitrectomy.Someauthorsreportedcasesofresolutionofstage4AROPafterbevacizumabinjection. 1.Introduction moieties, was developed to bind and block the activity of extracellularVEGF,speci?callythe165aminoacidis
