Weshowthatthesystemoperatorgeneratesa positiveC0-semigroupofcontraction inaBanachspace,thereforethereexistsaunique, nonnegative,andtime-dependant solution.Byanalyzingthespectrum ofsystemopera- tor,wededucethatallspectralieinthelefthalf-planeand0istheuniquespectralpoint onimaginary axis.Asaresult,thetime-dependant solutionconvergestotheeigenvector ofsystemoperatorcorrespondingtoeigenvalue0. 1.Introduction Reliabilityofasystemcanbeincreasedbyusingredundancytechniquewithoutchanging theindividualunitthatformsthesystem.Oneofthecommonusedformsofredundancy iscoldstandbysystem,whichoften?ndsapplicationinvariousindustrialorothertypes ofsetup. Inadditiontothefailureofindividualunits,somecriticalerrorscouldcausethewhole system to fail [4, 5, 6, 7, 9]. But, the switching mechanism is all assumed to be good enoughin[4,5,6,7,9].Inreality,thefailureofswitchingmechanismhastobeconsid- ered[1,6,8].The most general system (with repair facilities andmultiple critical and noncritical errorsandimperfect switching mechanism) wasdiscussed in[6].Byproba- bilisticanalysis,theauthorin[6]established themathematic modelofsuchsystemand obtained somedesired results.However,allpapers mentioned abovearelimited inap- plied?eld,andtheresultsaboutreliability andavailability whichthosepapers hadde- ducedareunderthetwofollowingassumptions. Assumption1.1. Therepairablesystemhasuniqueandnonnegativesolution. Assumption1.2. Thesolutionoftherepairablesystemisasymptoticstability.
