Network calculus is a theory initiated primarily in computer communication networks, especially in the aspect of real-time communications,wheremin-plusalgebraplaysarole.Cyber-physicalnetworkingsystems(CPNSs)arerecentlydevelopingfastand modelsindata?owsaswellassystemsinCPNSare,accordingly,greatlydesired.Thoughmin-plusalgebramaybeapromisingtool tolinearizeanynodeinCPNSascanbeseenfromitsapplicationstotheInternetcomputing,therearetoughproblemsremaining unsolvedinthisregard.Theidentityinmin-plusalgebraisoneproblemweshalladdress.Weshallpointouttheconfusionsabout theconventionalidentityinthemin-plusalgebraandpresentananalyticalexpressionoftheasymptoticidentitythatmaynot causeconfusions. 1.Introduction expected, because communication systems, including the Internet, are, in nature, nonlinear due to queuing, see, for example, Akimaru and Kawashima [52], Yue et al.
