This isanopen accessarticle distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, andreproductioninanymedium,providedtheoriginalworkisproperlycited. 1.Introduction Serialproductionlineswithqualitycontrol(QC)devicesaresetsofprocessingmachines, QCdevicesandmaterialhandlingdevicesarrangedintheconsecutiveordersoastopro- ducehigh-qualityproducts.TheQCdevicesareinstalledtocheckwhetherthepartsbeing processedmeetarequiredspeci?cationornot[8,13].Bydoingthis,ahigh-qualityprod- uctcanbeproducedtosatisfythecustomer.Thus,themanufacturing enterprise canbe successful andeverlasting inthecompeting market.Therefore, thegoalofthispaperis toprovideanengineering methodforestimatingtheperformanceofaserialproduction linewithQCdevices.Suchamethodcanbeusedtoimproveanexistingproductionline ortodesignanewproductionlinesothatitcanperforminahighlye?cientmannerand havecapabilityofproducinghigh-qualityproducts. The processing machines and the QC devices are subject to random breakdowns, whichleadtounscheduled downtime andlossofproduction.
