Atopicdermatitis(AD)isacommonin?ammatoryskindisease.TheincreasingprevalenceandseverityofADhaveprompted thedevelopmentsofsafer,moree?ectivedrugs.Althoughtopicalcorticosteroidshavebeenusedas?rstlinetherapyforAD,their potentialsidee?ectslimittheirclinicalapplications.Toinvestigatethee?ectofhirsutenone(HIR),adiarylheptanoidcompound, onAD-likeskinlesionsandotherfactorsrelatedtoimmuneresponseistheaimofthispaperTh2-relatedcytokines(IL-4,IL- 5,IL-13),eosinophil,IgEin?ammatoryfactors(COX-2,iNOS)levelswerereducedinblood,lymphocytes,andtissueafterHIR treatment.TheseresultssuggestthatHIRmightbeane?ectivetreatmentforAD. 1.Introduction buttheir side e?ects,such as, perioral dermatitis and skin atrophyandstriaeinsensitiveareas,areamajorobstacleto theirlong-termapplication[3].
