Alargevolumeofgeneratedsewagesludgemakesitsdisposalaproblem.Theusageofsludgeinagricultureishighlightedby anumberofadvantages.However,heavymetalsandothertoxiccompoundsmayexerciseharmfule?ectstosoilorganisms.This studyevaluatedthepossibletoxice?ectsofabiosolidsample,underlaboratoryconditions,for30days,usingdiplopodsRhinocricus padbergiandplantsAlliumcepa(onion)astestorganisms.Thedataobtaineddemonstratedthatthebiosolidrawsamplehad genotoxicpotentialforAlliumceparoottipcells.Inthediplopodsexposedtobiosolidsample,epitheliumdisorganizationinthe midgutandareductionofthevolumeofthehepaticcellswereobservedafter7daysofexposure.After30days,theanimalsstill showedareductionofthevolumeofthehepaticcells,butinminorintensity.Alliumcepaanalysisshowedgenotoxicity,butthis e?ectwasreducedafter30daysofbioprocessingbydiplopods.Thisstudywasimportanttoknowthee?ectsaswellastodetermine howthiswastecouldbeappliedconcerningthesoillivingorganismsandplants. 1.Introduction isacompoundrichinorganicmatterandessentialnutrients forplantsandmicroorganisms.
