Thispaperinvestigateselectrochemicaldouble-layercapacitors(EDLCs)includingtwoalternativetypesofcarbon-based?brous electrodes,acarbon?brewovenfabric(CWF)andamultiwallcarbonnanotube(CNT)electrode,aswellashybridCWF-CNT electrodes.Twotypesofseparatormembraneswerealsoconsidered.AnorganicgelelectrolytePEO-LiCIO4-EC-THFwasused tomaintainahighworkingvoltage.Thecapacitorcellsweretestedincyclicvoltammetry,charge-discharge,andimpedancetests. Thebestseparatorwasaglass?bre-?nepore?lter. Thecarbonwovenfabricelectrode andthecorrespondingsupercapacitor exhibitedsuperiorperformanceperunitarea,whereasthemultiwallcarbonnanotubeelectrodeandcorrespondingsupercapacitor demonstratedexcellentspeci?cproperties.ThehybridCWF-CNTelectrodesdidnotshowacombinedimprovedperformancedue tothelackofcarbonnanotubepenetrationintothecarbon?brefabric. 1.Introduction carbon?brefabricsaselectrodesforcapacitordeviceswitha polymergelelectrolyte,poly(ethyleneglycol)diglycidylether (PEGDGE),whichresultedinverylowcapacitance,whereas theiractivatedcarbonfabricshadhighresistance.
