Polycysticovariansyndrome(PCOS)isoneofthemostcommonendocrinedisturbancesinwomenofreproductiveage.Besides itswell-knowne?ectsonreproductivehealth,itisalsolinkedtoincreasedcardiovascularriskinlaterlife.Theaimofthisstudyis toinvestigatesomeclassicalcardiovascularriskfactorsinacrossectionalstudyofBulgarianwomenwithPCOSand/orobesity.We performedaretrospectivemedicalchartreviewof375womenfromanuniversityendocrineclinic.Wefoundsigni?cantdi?erences intheindicesofcarbohydratemetabolism,bloodpressure,lipidpro?le,rateofliversteatosis,andthelevelsliverenzymesand hematologicalresultsbetweentheleanandobesePCOSwomen.ObesewomenwithoutPCOSdidnotshowsigni?cantlydi?erent resultsintheirOGGTformobesePCOSwomen.Waist-to-stature-ratio(WSR)correlatedbetterwiththebaselineIRIlevelsand lipidpro?lethanwaist-to-hip-ratio(WHR)thatmakesitabettermarkerforunfavorablemetabolicpro?le. 1.Introduction [18–20].Overthelast20years,theprevalenceofobesityhas dramatically increased, with probable associated increase in PCOS. Obesity contributes to the prevalence of the metabolicsyndromeinPCOSpatients[21].Centralobesity isoftenassociatedwithPCOS[22]andcarriesincreasedrisk for developing cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes [23]. The speci?c indicators of abdominal obesity are better for
