Mostanticancerdrugsaregreatlylimitedbytheserioussidee?ectsthattheycause.Doxorubicin(DOX)isanantineoplastic agent, commonly used against breast cancer. However, it may lead to irreversible cardiotoxicity, which could even result in congestiveheartfailure.Inordertoavoidtheseharmfulsidee?ectstothepatientsandtoimprovethetherapeutice?cacyof doxorubicin,wedevelopedDOX-loadedpolyethylenimine-(PEI-)enhancedhumanserumalbumin(HSA)nanoparticles.The formednanoparticleswere ～137nminsizewithasurfacezetapotentialof ～+15mV,preparedusing20μgofPEIaddedper mgofHSA.CytotoxicitywasnotobservedwithemptyPEI-enhancedHSAnanoparticles,formedwithlow-molecularweight (25kDa)PEI,indicatingbiocompatibilityandsafetyofthenanoparticleformulation.Underoptimizedtransfectionconditions, approximately80%ofcellsweretransfectedwithHSAnanoparticlescontainingtetramethylrhodamine-conjugatedbovineserum albumin.Conclusively,PEI-enhancedHSAnanoparticlesshowpotentialfordevelopingintoane?ectivecarrierforanticancer drugs. 1.Introduction acid [8], chitosan [9], ge
