ThispaperreportsonthetransformationthathasoccurredinthecareofpeoplelivingwithHIV/AIDSinaTorontoHospice. CaseyHouseopenedinthepre-HAARTeratocareexclusivelyforpeoplewithHIV/AIDS,anincurabledisease.Atthetime, allpatientswereadmittedforpalliativecareandalldeathswereduetoAIDS-de?ningconditions.AIDS-de?ningmalignancies accountedfor22percentofdeaths,mainly,Kaposisarcomaandlymphoma.Inthepost-HAARTera,AIDS-de?ningmalignancies droppeddramaticallyandnon-AIDS-de?ningmalignanciesbecameasigni?cantcauseofdeath,includinglivercancer,lungcancer andgastriccancers.Inthepost-HAARTera,peoplelivingwithHIV/AIDSservedatCaseyHou
