The phylOgeny O f Bupleurom w制 investigated based On the ITS regiOn O fthe nuclear ribO sOmal DNA (nrDNA) Of 14 taxa 仕Omthe Hengduan MOuntains , 3 taxa frOm the NOrth China (Hebei and HeilOngjiang) , and 16 taxa frOm A仕ica and the Mediterranean regiOn. Varia- tiOns in chrOmO sOme numbers and the ITS sequences were used ωinfer phylogenetic relatiOnships between Bupleurom species in Hengduan Mountains. The results shOwed that the Hengduan MOuntains might represent one Of the frequency and diversity centers fOr Bupleurom. The ancestOrs Of Bupleurom species in the Hengduan MOuntains may be related tO the wOOdy B. 卢uticosum in NOrth Africa,Or the species in the westem Mediterranean regiOn.
