Usingvacciniavirus(VACV),whichhasbeenusedasthevaccinetoridtheworldofsmallpoxandisproposedasavectorfor manyothervaccines,weshowthatDPisthemainmechanismfortheprimingofananti-viralTCD8+response.Thesefindings provideimportantinsightstoourunderstandingofhowoneofthemosteffectiveanti-viralvaccinesinducesimmunityand shouldcontributetothedevelopmentofnovelvaccines.
