Methods:MetS-prevalence(AHA/NHLB-definition)wasassessedandClopper-Pearson95%confidenceintervals(CIs) werecalculated.FactorsassociatedwithMetSwereexploredthroughunivariateandmultivariatelogistic regressions(bothvisits). Results:MetS-prevalencewas44.3%(CI39.8;48.9)atbaselineand49.6%(CI45.0;54.2)atmonth-3.Previously unmedicatedpatientsshowedthelowestbaselineMetS-prevalence(24.7%,CI18.3;32.1).MetS-prevalencewasnot significantlydifferent,regardlessifpatientspreviouslyreceivedtypicaloratypicalantipsychotics.IncreasedMetS-risk wasassociatedwithsomaticcomorbidityandnon-smokingatbothvisits,andwithnon-psychiatricco-medication, malesex,andincreasedC-reactiveproteinatmonth-3.
