ThemajorityofparticipantsthoughtthatsocietyingeneralhadanegativeimageofSCD,andreportednegative perceptionsandattitudes.Someissuesineducation,employment,andhealthcarewereexpressed,howeverthese wereintheminorityofcases.Theresultsalsoshowedthatdepressivefeelingswereexperiencedinalmosthalfthe studypopulation,eventhoughfeelingsofanxietyorself-hatewereuncommon.Clinicalimplicationsofthesefind- ingsareconsidered.
