Substance P (SP)(+) and TRPV1(+) neurons were completely depleted(p=0.0001andp,0.0001,respectively),butRTXhadarelativelyminoreffectoncalcitoningene-relatedpeptide (CGRP)(+)neurons(p=0.029).Accordingly,SP(+)(p,0.0001)andTRPV1(+)(p=0.0008)IENFswerepermanentlydepleted, butCGRP(+)IENFs(p=0.012)wereonlytransientlyreducedandhadrecoveredbyRTXd84(p=0.83).Thedifferenteffectsof RTXonpeptidergicneuronswereattributedtothehigherco-localizationratioofTRPV1/SPthanofTRPV1/CGRP(p =0.029).
