Themethodaimsathelpingphysiciansdiscriminatebetweenhealthyandseizure electroencephalographic(EEG)signals. Method:DiscriminationinthisworkisachievedbyanalyzingEEGsignalsobtained fromfreelyaccessibledatabases.MATLABhasbeenusedtoimplementandtestthe proposedclassificationalgorithm.Theanalysisinquestionpresentsaclassificationof normalandictalactivitiesusingafeaturereliedonHilbert-HuangTransform.Through thismethod,informationrelatedtotheintrinsicfunctionscontainedintheEEG signalhasbeenextractedtotrackthelocalamplitudeandthefrequencyofthe signal.Basedonthislocalinformation,weightedfrequenciesarecalculatedanda comparisonbetweenictalandseizure-freedeterminantintrinsicfunctionsisthen performed.Methodsofcomparisonusedarethet-testandtheEuclideanclustering. Results:Thet-testresultsinaP-value0.02andtheclusteringleadstoaccurate (94%)andspecific(96%)results.Theproposedmethodisalsocontrastedagainstthe MultivariateEmpiricalModeDecompositionthatreaches80%accuracy.Comparison resultsstrengthenthecontributionofthispapernotonlyfromtheaccuracypointof viewbutalsowithrespecttoitsfastresponseandeasetouse. Conclusion:AnoriginaltoolforEEGsignalprocessinggivingphysiciansthe possibilitytodiagnosebrainfunctionalityabnormalitiesispresentedinthispaper.
