Methods:WeevaluatedcorrelatesofsunprotectionandsunbathingamongFDRsofmelanomapatientswho wereatincreaseddiseaseriskduetolowcompliancewithsunprotectionandskinsurveillancebehaviors. Participants(N=545)completedaphonesurvey. Results:FDRswhoreportedhighersunprotectionhadahighereducationlevel,lowerbenefitsofsunbathing, greatersunscreenself-efficacy,greaterconcernsaboutphoto-agingandgreatersunprotectionnorms.FDRswho reportedhighersunbathingwereyounger,morelikelytobefemale,endorsedfewersunscreenbarriers,perceived morebenefitsofsunbathing,hadlowerimagenormsfortanness,andendorsedhighersunbathingnorms. Conclusion:Interventionsforfamilymembersatriskformelanomamightbenefitfromimprovingsunprotection self-efficacy,reducingperceivedsunbathingbenefits,andtargetingnormativeinfluencestosunbathe.
