Methods The effectiveness of establishing a management system of preventing and curing VTE within hospital was evaluated after the implementation. Results After the implementation of hospital VTE prevention management work, the concept of VTE prevention and treatment was improved among clinical professionals. With the alternative management, the number of diagnosed VTE cases (83 cases vs. 60 cases) and rate of treatment increased (83.1% vs. 61.7%). VTE caused deaths (0 case vs. 2 cases) and the doctor-related refusal treatment rate (38.5% vs. 56.5% ) declined. The average hospitalization days and costs had no significant change.
