In th is thesis，I h ave ch osen several FA O s w eb sites (i.e.C hongqin g, X iam en, N am in g) as th e research objects in a lim ited tim e span from June to O ctober, 20 11. 1.3 R esearch M eth odo logy In th is research , som e authentic exam p les w ill be taken to ju stify the analy sis. M ost of th e exam p les u sed in th is th esis are selected from local governm ents FA O w eb sites. T hroughout th e thesis，case studies w ill b e prov ided to exp lain, illu strate an d support th e strategies. D escriptive approaches w ill be em p loyed during the process of analysis. 1 .4 T h e sis S tru c tu r e T h is th esis is com po sed o f six chapters. C hapter O n e is a general introduction of th e research m otivation , objective, m ethodo logy and structure of the th esis. C hapter T hree discu sses the features of foreign affairs language. A nd C hapter F our analyzes in detail those com m on m istak es of the translation of FA O s w eb sites. In the C hapter F ive, Skopostheorie is adopted to exp lain those prob lem s. It is argu ed in th is chapter that Skop ostheorie is app licab le to directing FA O w eb site tran slation . C hapter S ix presents a conclu sion of th is th esis. T he lim itation s of th is research w ill also be stated in th is p art.
