School of Business ,Jiangnan University ,Wuxi , 214122 , China) Abstract: The present paper is an investigation into the command of food safety knowledge of the general pub- lic of Wuxi City so as to get a thorough understanding of the consumption safety situation. So far as this issue is concerned , the government should take such steps as creating atmosphere for informing the public , utilizing modern information technologies and mass media , popularizing food safety knowledge to consumers at grass- roots level and organizing various activities like Food Safety Awareness Week to keep the general public well informed of food safety knowledge , improve their ability to sense risks and finally reach a state of complete safety in food consumption throughout the city.
