* 第一部分 基础知识归纳梳理 第一节 初中常用单词、词组辨析 1. a few, few, a little, little a few, few, a little, little均可充当形容词修饰名词，其中a few, few修饰复数可数名词，a little, little修饰不可数名词;a few, a little表示肯定的意义，few, little表示否定的意义。如： I read a few books of this famous writer recently. 最近我读过这位著名作家的几本书。 Few students can work out this problem, can they? 很少有学生能算出这道题，是吗？ Don’t worry！ We still have a little money left. 别担心！我们还剩下一点钱。 There’s little ink in the bottle, I need to buy some. 瓶子里面几乎没有墨水了，我得去买些。 附：（1）如果有only, just等词修饰，我们通常说only/just a few/little。 （2）a little还可以修饰形容词或副词的原级和比较级。如：a little fat有点胖；a little faster 更快一点点。 【应用】 （ ）1. The twins can speak only ______ French. a few B. few C. little D. a little D 2. a number of, the number of a number of 意为“许多”，修饰复数可数名词，谓语用复数形式。the number of 意为“……的数目”，修饰复数可数名词，中心为“数目”，故谓语动词用单数形式。如： A number of people were gathering on the square when the accident happened. 当事故发生时，许多人正聚集在广场上。 The number of graduates who volunteer to help in the rural area has reached 3,000. 志愿去农村地区助一臂之力的毕业生人数已经达到三千了。 附：修饰复数可数名词表示“许多”的词组还有a good/ great many, a lot of, lots of, plenty of等等。 此外，a number of还可以被分解为两个短语：a small number of“少许，一些”和 a large number of “大量的”。 【应用】 1.
