Results Barium enemas, anore ti manometry and re tal biopsies onfirmed the diagnosis of HD in 155 newborn ases.Tw o stage radi al pro edure was performed in 107 ases, and one stage in 48 ases.One hundred and forty-seven ases w ere ured.Postoperative pneumonia o urred in 25 ases, wound dishen es in 8 ases w ith 8 deaths.There was substantial differen e in the in- iden e of ompli ations, hospital stay and mortality between the two periods. Conclusions (1)Gas- trointestinal perforation in neonatal HD ases should be managed by re tal biopsies during the exploration.
