0935224703 1 Case-Control (TQIP) 90 6 1 8 31 ±10 94 ( 188) (Glasgow Coma Scale)Charlson comorbidity score ( P0.05 24 P0.05 6.4 P0.05 23,339.2 P0.05 2 Abstract Correlates factors and resources utilization of injurious falls in hospitalized patients Yu-Chih Chen, Li-Hwa Lin, Su-Fen Chien The purposes of this study were as following: (1) to identify correlates of injurious falls in hospitalized patients; (2) to evaluate the risk for falls associated with exposures to drugs ; (3) to estimate the additional length of stay and total charges associated with a injurious fall in a hospitalized patient. This retrospective case-control study was performed in a TQIP program of each three medical center and community hospitals. 94 cases were reported as having fallen with injury after being admitted between June 1, 2001 and August 31, 2001. The 94 controls were matched by age (within 10 year), gender, diagnosis, pre-event length of stay and patient acuity. The study tools included incidence report, Glasgow Coma Scale and Charlson Comorbidity Score. Resources utilization data were obtained from the hospital’s fiscal database. The results of the stud
