网络知识（Network knowledge） TCP/IP troubleshooting tools The following list shows some of the TCP/IP diagnostic tools that come with Windows XP: Basic tools Network diagnostics in help and support Contains detailed information about network configuration and automatic test results. Network connection folder Contains information and configuration on all network connections on your computer. To find the network connection folder, click start, click control panel, and then click Network and Internet connections. IPConfig command Displays the current TCP/IP network configuration value; updates or releases the lease allocated by the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP); displays, registers, or refreshes the name of the domain name system (DNS). Ping command Send the ICMP echo request message to verify that the TCP/IP is configured properly, and whether the TCP/IP host is available. Advanced tools Hostname command Displays the name of the main computer. Nbtstat command Displays the status of the NetBIOS connection on the current TCP/IP, updates the NetBIOS name cache, and displays the name and range of the registration ID. PathPing command Shows the path of the TCP/IP host and the packet loss situation that passes through each router. Route command Displays the IP routing table and adds or removes IP routing. Tracert command Displays the path to the TCP/IP host. To see the correct command syntax used by each of these tools, type - at the command prompt at the name of the tool.
