Some people believe that everybody has the right to drive their own car. Others say the number of private vehicles should be limited. ? Discuss both these points of view and give your opinion. 选自《雅思考官写作 》 Millions and millions of people all over the world own cars, because cars provide freedom and convenience. However, this situation has created major problems of traffic congestion and air pollution. Consequently, some people suggest that large numbers of people should be forced to give up their cars. Other people disagree. They think this is an unrealistic solution. According to some people the way to solve the problems created by private vehicles is to reduce their numbers. Vehicles burn fossil fuel, which leads to air pollution by creating smog. Smog is dangerous to human health and contributes to the greenhouse effect, which could lead to extreme climate change and rising sea levels. As well, congested cities are unhealthy and frustrating places to live and work, and can lead to increased stress and even crime. Some people argue that if governments make and enforce laws to limit the use of private vehicles, the consequences of global warming may be avoided, and cities will be nicer places to live in. 选自《雅思考官写作 》 However, other people argue that trying to get governments to limit private cars is not a sensible way to approach the problem. Firstly, they argue that taking cars off the road will create more problems than it solves. Our modern life and global economy depends on cars.
