T he study o n the community str ucture of entomogenous fungi in a M asson! s pine for est having been inoculated with Beauveria bassiana for many years show ed that there were 4 genus and 7 species of entomogenous fungi, a mo ng w hich, B. bassiana was the dominant species, occupying 63. 22% of the to tal, followed by Paecilomyces ( 25. 86% ) , Metarhizium ( 9. 20% ) and Verticillum ( 1. 72% ) . n terms of insect host diversity, the Brillouin index and evenness index w er e 3. 564 and 2. 315, and 0 . 8 14 and 0. 865 for B. bassiana and P . cateniannula tus, and 1. 471 and 0. 862, and 0 . 963 and 1000 for P . f arinosus and V. lecanii, r espectiv ely, while M . f lavoviride, M. anisop liae, and P .f umosoroseus had lower diversity and evenness. T he diversity index of insect hosts infected by B. bassiana show ed a temporal v ar iation, i. e. , higher in spring and autumn, and lower in sum mer , which r eflected the seasonal dynamics of B. bassiana population.
