The history and present situation of Psychoanalysis Psychoanalysis is the cornerstone of modern psychotherapy, but its influence is far from confined to the field of psychotherapy. The influence of the entire psychological science and the various fields of western humanities in the twentieth Century is comparable to that of Darwin. As far as its position and function in psychotherapy is concerned, it is both a systematic therapy and the foundation of modern psychotherapy. The ideas and methods of psychoanalysis, sometimes from the positive and sometimes from the reverse, are inspired or stimulated by other therapies later. The spirit of the whole system and analysis of the formation of therapy, is basically in its founder Sigmund #183; Freud (Sigmund Freud, 1856~1939) the completion of the rest of life.
