Abst ract Object ive To study the potential role of cyclooxygenase( COX)-2 and COX-2-derived
cataprostaglandins ( Gs) in human recurrent spontaneous abortion ( RSA) . Met hods The expression levels of
COX-2 and Gs inthe chorionic tissues of RSA patientsand normal pregnancy womenwere examined by rea-l time
polymerase chain reaction ( CR), Western blotting analysis and ELISA. Result s Our results showed that the
expressionof COX-2 inthe chorionic tissues of RSA patients (0. 368 0. 089) was significantly lower than that of
the normal pregnant women ( 1. 046 0. 108, P 0.01). Furthermore, the expression of prostaglandins GF2a
