In recent years, a few multifunctional service vehicles (MSV) have been used for construction material transportation in some projects. The technical practicability of MSV is analyzed in terms of road adaptability and speed, transportation capacity and application field, space adaptability and control performance; and the economy of MSV is analyzed in terms of equipment allocation and purchasing, circulation materials and installation and operation. The analytical results show that: 1) The MSV should be chosen considering safety factors when the tunnel longitudinal slope angle is large. 2) The locomotive transportation and MSV transportation can both be chosen considering comprehensive cost when the tunnel longitudinal slope angle is small and the transportation distance is about11 km.
