* This slide is self explanatory. Both of these standards are here to stay. VXI is not going out of business, and will be around for many years. Please ask the Panel members about this if you have any doubts. PXI, while new, is a robust standard that is gaining acceptance rapidly. There are many companies that are fully committed to making it a success. If you have any questions about this, please ask our panel members. Finally, each standard has some strengths and weaknesses, with some excellent price/performance points for some applications. The applications, the current product availability, and the respective price/performance will determine your best solution. We do not want to get into details for your specific application, (please see vendors on the show floor for that), but general questions are welcomed. * Just as PXI leverages off of other standards, these other instrumentation architectures can leverage off of PXI technology. With readily available interface modules, you can use a PXI system as the main controller for VXI, VME, and GPIB systems. PXI and CompactPCI modules and systems are completely interoperable. Because PXI also works with these other standards, you preserve your investment in other technologies. Until recently, you could not use standard desktop PCs to directly control a PXI system without an embedded controller.
