Currently, the traditional and single geological survey has been unable to support the construction of mineral resources base and the development of green mining industry，thus it needs to be carry out comprehensive geological survey and assessment including mineral resources, environmental and technological economy. This paper summarizes the significance and content of the comprehensive geological survey in the mineral resources base and illustrated by two case studies from the CGS that both had been completed in 2016，i. e., “comprehensive geological survey of the non-ferrous metal base in eastern Tianshan, Xinjiang” and “comprehensive geological survey of the non-ferrous metal base in Chifeng, Tnner Mogolia” ? the ideas and technical proposal along with the expression of achievement of the comprehensive geological survey of mineral resources base in the two projects are summarized, which hopes to offer useful reference about the above-mentioned works.
