It has many advantages, such as high mass transfer coefficient, low room-occupation and low energy consumption, but the equipments’ volume has been limited to enlarge and the separation requirement is hard to meet. Developing new packing is the current research focus of high gravity distillation technology. Experimental research on mass transfer and hydromechanics of engineering plastics star-shaped packing and corrugated wire mesh packing were discussed firstly. Secondly, hydromechanics simulation of corrugated wire mesh packing in high gravity field was studied. Finally, the application research of ethanol solvent recovery in the pectin production using high gravity distillation equipment with corrugated wire mesh packing and star-shaped packing was discussed.In aspect of mass transfer performance experimental research, distillation experiments were investigated based on binary systems of methanol/water and ethanol/water respectively, multistage Higee as the main equipment, and the operating conditions of high gravity factor β: 20.9~130.6, reflux ratio R: 1.5~4, feed flow rate F: 25L/h~50L/h and feed mass fraction w: 15%~45%.
