AbstractWiththedevelopmentofcommunicationandcomputertechnology,sourcecodinghasbeengivenmoreandmoreadvancedrequirementsinpracticalapplicationperformances.H.264isthemostrecentvideocodinginternationalstandard,employingmanynewcodingtechnologies.Thisstandardcanachievetwotimesthecodingefficiencycomparedwithformerstandardwiththesameimagequality.Therefore,itisconsideredthemostinfluentialvideocodingstandard.Residualcodingprocessesthedataafterpredictionandwritesthemtothecodestream,achievingfurthercompressionofvideosequences.Itisanimportantpartofvideocodingtechnology.Sinceresidualcodinggeneratesthekernelofthecodestream,thecapabilityofitsrelativealgorithmshastremendousimpactstheperformanceoftheencoderanddecoder.Theresearchworkofthisthesisismainlyonoptimizedalgorithmsofresidualcoding.Basedontheanalysisoftheperformanceofexistingresidualcodingalgorithms,thefollowingtaskshavebeencarriedoutinthisthesis.Fristly,Aresidualcodingalgorithmemployingcomressedsensingtheoryisproposed.Compressedsensingtheoryexplorestheinherentcorrelationofsparsesignalsformoreefficientsignalsampling,compressionadnrecovery.OuralgorithmincorporatesthecompressedsensingtheoryintothetraditionalDCTbasedcodingmethodtoachievebettercompressionefficiency.Intheimprovedalgorithm,firstbyamotioncompensatedtemporalhidingmethodforrepairtothemainpartoftheerrormacroblock,macroblockadjacenttotheperipheryandthenusethecorrectinformationtorecovertheresidualdatainformationpreviouslypredictedmacroblock,thelastoftheseaddedtothetwopiecesofinformation,insuchawaytorestoretheerrormacroblock.Throughexperimentalanalysis,usingtherestoredimageoftheresidualrecoveryalgorithm,restorethecurrenterrorofthemacro-block,sothatthemacroblockerrorbehidden,therebypreventingthefurtherspreadoftheerrormacroblock,andenhancetheoverallqualityoftheimage.Secondly,Studycorrelationoftheresidualcoefficientsinthemultiplereferenceframesearchalgorithmbasedontheoriginalmulti-macroblock,thecorrelationfunctioninthehorizontalandverticaldirectionswereseparated,andthenbyhavi
