The hydrodynamic performance is affected by time very vortex surface at the tail edge of the foil. The Rankine sources and dipoles are distributed on the hydrofoil body surface and free surface. The dipoles are also placed on the wake surface. The Kutta condition is satisfied. Newton-Raphson method is used. The hydrodynamic forces are computed for the hydrofoil with heavy motion, pitch motion and heavy-pitching couple motion in unbounded fluid. The effects of appropriate parameter on the hydrofoil performance are presented.The unsteady boundary element method is employed to deal with the hydrodynamic computation of hydrofoil moving near the free surface. The computation formulation is developed The Rankine sources and dipoles are distributed on boundary surfaces including the hydrofoil body surface and free surface. The Kutta condition is satisfied. A time-stepping panel method is employed to simulate the flow field around the hydrofoil and the free surface profile. The linear free surface is utilized. The dipoles are also placed on the wake surface. The hydrodynamic forces are computed for the hydrofoil with heavy motion, pitch motion and heavy-pitching couple motion in unbounded fluid.
