AbstractLongandRichardspointedoutlanguagetransferhadbeenacentralissuefortheappliedlinguistics,secondlanguageacquisitionandlanguagestudyatleastonecenturyintheprefaceofthebookLanguageTransferpublishedbyOdlinin1989.ZhaoShikai,afamouslinguistathome,alsonotedthatmothertonguetransferwasthebasicprobleminthestudyofsecondlanguageacquisition.Asisknowntoall,thedevelopmentofthetheoryaboutlanguagetransferhadundergonetheprocessoftwistsandturnsfromtheprosperityofthe1950sandthe1960s,tothedeclineofthe1970s,untiltherenaissanceinthemid-1980s.Inrecentdecades,linguistsathomeandabroadhavestudiedlanguagetransferfromdifferentangles.ThisthesismainlyattemptedtodiscusstheinfluenceofmothertonguetransferonJuniorMiddleSchoolstudents’Englishwritinginruralareas.Asoneofthemostimportantmeansforlanguagelearning,Englishwritingnotonlyreflectsthestudents’comprehensivelanguageknowledgebutalsoreflectstheirlanguagecompetenceincommunication.AlongwiththeadvancementofNewCurriculumReform,theeducationalcircleshavepaidmoreattentiontostudents’Englishwriting,andthusahigherstandardfortheirEnglishwritinghasbeensetup.BecausemoststudentslearnEnglishinprimarystage,theirabilitiesofusinglanguagearelimited.What’sworse,theeducationinruralareasisratherpoorandstudentsareinlackofsufficientlanguageenvironment.Thereforestudents’Englishwritingisofteninfluencedbytheirmothertonguetransfer,especiallythenegativetransfer,whichhasbecomethemainobstacleforimprovingtheirEnglishwritingproficiency.Basedontheoriesofcontrastiveanalysis,erroranalysisandinterlanguage,andonpreviousachievements,thisresearchclassifiedandanalyzedthemainerrorsinstudents’Englishwritinginruralareasbyerroranalysistheory.Astoeachkindoferror,thepaperprovidedsometypicalexamplestoanalyzeandthenexplainedthecausesfortheseerrors.Theauthor,taking110studentsinClass3andClass4ofGradeNineassubjects,didanexperimentinthecourseofinternshipinJinghuaCommunityMiddleSchool.Theerrorswerecollectedandclassifiedbasedonthesubjects’Englishwritingtestsinthetwoclassesandthedatawereanalyzedbythe
