Abstract: Like other industries, the pharmaceutical industry does not operate in a vacuum. It is subject
to various internal and external pressures which make the manufacturers alter their activities in order to
be successful. Demand of pharmaceutical products depends on the size and composition of the
population, the standard of living and the incidence of disease. There are many factors which are
outside the control of the pharmaceutical manufacturers and change at relative slow pace. This paper
will give an analysis of the marketing environment of pharmaceutical industry.

0 Introduction
Briefly The pharmaceutical industry is one of the most successful industries in the technology
sector and its ability to innovate has seen it launch nearly 1,400 new chemical entities as human
therapeutics over the last 30 years . Meanwhile, the pharmaceutical industry is one of the biggest
industries in terms of revenues. It was reported that in 2003 total global sales reached 466.3 billion
US dollars. Manufacturers are influenced by the changes in the society, the industry, more
important they are led by the patients. The manufacturers have little or no control over the factors;
they adjust their marketing activities by screening the physician’s influence[1].
