The Results Approval Process (Including the Results Approval Panel) Introduction In accordance with procedure B6.10 of Provider Quality Assurance all Providers must establish a Results Approval Process. The purpose of the Results Approval Process is to: ...ensure that results are fully quality assured and signed off by the Provider prior to submission to FETAC for certification. This will involve the establishment by the Provider of a Results Approval Panel and will include systems for submitting learner data and results. ( Quality Assurance in Further Education and Training Policy and Guidelines for Providers version 1.3 p 39, FETAC, 2008) (Link) The Results Approval Process is a key stage in the Providers procedures for quality assuring their assessment process, and is outlined in the document Quality Assuring Assessment, Guidelines for Providers, pp 32-33 (FETAC 2007) The Results Approval Process takes place following completion of the Authentication Process which includes the Internal Verification Process and the External Authentication Process The Results Approval Process ensures that appropriate decisions are taken regarding the outcome of the assessment and the Authentication Process Results must be approved before going to FETAC, i.e. it is the responsibility of the Results Approval Panel to agree that the results can be forwarded to FETAC. The Process must include consideration of the Internal Verification and External Authentication reports. The Results Approval Panel has a responsibility to recommend/take corrective action where appropriate.
