As a medical biomaterial, it should not only meet the requirements of the biomechanical compatibilities and good mechanical properties, but also have a biological activity that once it’s implanted into organisms, it can integrate with organization, and degrade into body structure or tissue in a period of time. As a beauty and skincare product, allantoin performs well in antimicrobial and repairing skin damage. The composite material of them has a double function of biological activity and repairing skin tissue. Since degradability largely reflects the biological activity, the changes of degradability of these two materials after compounded are studied by simulating body fluid immersion experiment in the subject. Experiment data shows that bioglass-allantoin sample has better degradability and stronger biological activity than bioglass sample.
