French sociologist Durkheim is the first one who researched the suicide with the method of sociology. He considered suicide as a social fact, which should use other social facts to explain.He treated the suicide rate as a research object, his research did not put an emphasis on individual factors, and for this reason, the laters constantly questioned his research,because of the neglection of the individual factors and the inaccurate of the data.In order to solve the problems which exist in the Durkheim’s research, the laters made every effort, such as redefining suicide, establishing new classification systems of suicide, but all these effors did not slip out of Durkheims theory framework, on a certain degree, is only a supplement of Durkheim’s suicide study.
