AbstractInordertofindoutkeyfactorsthatimproveelectrostaticprecipitator（ESP）collectionefficiencyofthesinteringplant,thispaperstudiessinteringdustcharacteristics,needle-platecoronadischarge,airflowdistributioninESP,andinvolvingthefourmajorproblemsintheuseoftheESP:dustcharacteristics,rappingcleaning,powersupplyandairflowdistribution.Designedonthebasisofthesestudies,theESPisusedastheexperimentalplatformoffollow-upexperiments.Intermsofdustcharacteristics,thestudiesincludeparticlesize,phase,XRF,chemicalcompositionanddensityofthedustinsinteringnoseandtail.ThroughresearchwecanconcludethatparticlesizeandcontentofFe,Karerootcausesthatleadtothedifferencesofdustremovalefficiency.Intermsofrappingcleaning,thestudyabouttheinfluenceofdustthicknessoncoronadischargeshowsthatthecoronacurrentofsinteringnosedustisparticularlysensitivetodustdepositioninneedle-platecoronadischargedeviceandtheinflectionpointofcoronacurrentappearsinthinnersectionofdustthickness,sotherappingcycleshouldbeshortenedintheuseoftheESP,whereastherappingcyclecanbeproperlylengthenedforsinteringtaildust.Intermsofpowersupply,thestudyabouttheinfluenceofripplecoefficientoncoronadischargeshowsthatadecreaseinripplecoefficientcansignificantlyimprovecoronacurrent,inadditionthatripplecoefficientisonlyrelatedwithpowersupply.Highfrequencypowersupplycanprovidedirect-currentwithripplecoefficientbelow5%,soitwasappliedtotheexperimentalplatformandcomparedwithindustrialfrequencypower.Intermsofairflowdistribution,thestudybasedonCFDnumericalsimulationinESPshowsthatporousplatesplayalargeroleinuniformdistributionofairflow.Moreover,inthecasethattheporousplatewithsmallercentralholes,andlargerperipheralhole,theuniformdistributionofairflowisthebest.Basedonthefundamentalresearchabove,thepreliminarydesignandlectotypeofESPmainstructure,dischargeelectrodesystem,dust-collectionelectrodesystem,inletandoutletgasbox,airflowuniformsystem,theduststoringsystemandhighvoltagepowersupplywereperformed.Keywords:SinteringdustcharacteristicsCoronadischargeRap
