The key to the logistics is management and the rationality of management depends on the correctness of the decision. Therefore the correctness of decisions can directly determine the survival and development of the logistics enterprises. Most of logistics enterprises in China have some achievements in the decisions of transport scheduling and inventory control. However they mainly rely on traditional empirical methods to make decisions. Therefore scientific decisions about logistics are required. This paper designs and develops the logistics decision support system which is based on business intelligence. And the system is mainly aimed to the requirements of the tobacco logistics. Logistics decision support system provides two functions such as daily business management and decision support for enterprises. Considering the characteristics of logistics, the system consists of two decision modules such as transport scheduling and intelligent inventory management. Main research work of this paper is summarized as below. Compared with traditional logistics management system,the logistics decision system proposed in this paper is based on data warehouse and applies the business intelligence technologies to logistics management systems. Moreover the system can provide support for decision makers by analyzing the hidden association and discipline of the huge data.
